Background:
The Better Future Foundation is the life-long dream
of Rosalina Norita. Her desire to help the less fortunate is inspired
by Mother Teresa's compassion for the poorest of the poor of India
and Mahatma Gandhi's belief that the poor can be self-reliant. These
two principles of compassion and self-reliance are the basic of
the Better Future Foundation's activities of generating small business
opportunities and advocating the education of children and the rights
of women in health, reproduction, protection and et cetera.
Since 1995, with the support of friend and colleagues, Rosalina Norita has helped support six orphanages located those areas outside of the normal tourist areas and so are less economically viable. These are:
- Artha Kara Kumara Orphanage at Negara, Jembrana Regency
- Ukuwiyah Islamiyah Orphanage at Pulukan, Jembrana Regency
- Maria Goretti Orphanage at Palasari, Jembrana Regency
- Giri Asih Orphanage at Melaya, Jembrana Regency
- Khrisna Rajasa Orphaange at Gilimanuk, Jembrana Regency
- Benih Kasih Orphanage at Seririt, Singaraja Regency.
